About The Program

The Community Hero program will open for submissions again in Fall 2025.

The Community Hero program, presented by MLSE and Seeing Red, selects an exceptional Canadian under 30 who positively influences the lives of others and makes a profound impact on their communities and beyond. The selected grand prize winner receives a donation to help raise awareness and advocate for a cause that is important to them. The winner is recognized through potential media opportunities and attends our Canada’s Walk of Fame gala events where their remarkable accomplishments are highlighted on a national stage.

2024 Prizing

  • A Ten Thousand Dollar ($10,000 CAN) donation to a charity of the Winner’s choice;
  • Announcement and Recognition of the Community Hero Winner at private Canada’s Walk of Fame event in November 2024;
  • Two (2) tickets to attend the Annual Awards Show and Gala in June 2025 (includes Red Carpet, Pre-Show Reception, Awards Show and Dinner, Post-Show Reception); additional:
    • Travel and accommodations for two (2); weekend in Toronto;
    • Recognition at the Awards Show and Gala with the potential to be included on the broadcast and introduced by a meaningful presenter; and
    • Commemorative Statuette;
  • Recognized on CWOF’s, MLSE’s and Seeing Red’s website, Instagram / Social Media pages;
  • CWOF to solicit media coverage for the Winner and their organization. *Note: Media coverage is at the sole discretion of each outlet and not a guarantee.
  • CWOF to organize all media outreach for the Winner to participate in interviews which will be used promote his or her cause.
  • Mentorship between Winner and either a current or past Inductee or Honouree, board member, significant Canadian Hero and program partners who can help them with their cause;
  • All flights, hotels and meals will be covered by CWOF and CWOF partners for Community Hero events that require travel
  • Dedicated Canada’s Walk of Fame Community Hero profile page on the CWOF communityhero.ca website.

How To Nominate

Nominating someone to be the Community Hero is easy! If you know an extraordinary young Canadian under 30 who is making a difference within their community, and whose work, project or volunteer efforts serve as a model for others to follow, visit the ‘Nominate’ page and tell us about them! Please make sure to read the rules and regulations and to complete the whole contest form prior to submitting.

THE HERO EXPERIENCE

The Grand Prize Winner of the Canada’s Walk of Fame Community Hero Program, presented by MLSE and Seeing Red, will receive an incredible amount of support to assist with the cause that they are most passionate about. Whether it’s receiving that extra money they’ve been wanting to help a charity, taking the stage at the Canada’s Walk of Fame Awards Show and Gala,  or receiving important advice from esteemed mentors, they will be receiving all they need to achieve their goals.
